I had gotten this rig from a friend last week. He stated that in 2m mode, the unit will not key up (transmit). Although, on 6m it works fine.
Any ideas before I spend the $$$ on an estimate and repair?

Tom, It depends on what the problem is. The HF portion of the radio (including 6 Meters) is a different part of the radio (the PA) than the 2 Meter portion. This is obvious by the seperate antenna connections on the back of the radio. It could be the VHF amplifier or another simple problem.
