Nachfolgend einige kleinere Verbesserungen:

After much preparation and a few days working on the update the website now has a new look and feel

Besides the new design several new features have been added. The biggest change is the logbook module. With this new feature you can enter your QSO's and publish them to our community. Logbook QSOs with valid gridsquare or valid geographical latitude and longitude will be shown on world maps. If your QSO partner is registered on socialhams he can also confirm the QSO. You can even import your existing logs into this module using the ADIF format or you can export your socialhams log in ADIF v3.0 to use in other log programs.

Navigation on the site has been redesigned and all amateur radio specific functions can now be accessed directly via the "Apps" menu. The new quick access sidebar gives you the flexibility to add your favorite apps so you can access them at any time. To add apps to the quick access bar, go to the "Apps" page and place your mouse pointer over the icon you would like to add then click the "Add App" button. To remove an App from the quick access bar click "Remove App" button.

Also new to the site is the “Quick Add” button which you can find on the tool bar, represented by the green plus sign. From this menu you can quickly add new content, events, QSOs, pictures and much more.

Socialhams Android and iOS apps are now offering enhanced functionality too. Site articles can now be read directly in the Mobile App and additional minor enhancements were made to prepare for the upcoming functions. Speaking of upcoming features in the mobile apps, this will be the next big playground for me. The plan is to integrate the existing amateur radio specific functions into the Android and iOS apps. The extent to which this will happen is not yet known but I think you will be thrilled about it.

Here are some minor improvements:

  • The quick search function is now accessible directly from the header
  • Inserting images in the descriptions and contributions have been improved. You may now upload images directly to the page and display it in your contributions. Use the icon.
  • Comments will now automatically expand
  • The language files have been standardized and corrected
