Reception of 140 km distance VHF signals with Baofeng UV-5R
Amateur radio portable operations in Trois Villes, Quart (Italy, loc. JN35pr), at 19.37 UTC of 5th June 2012, on 145.687,5 MHz, FM. In the background, IX1VKK works - using transceiver Kenwood TR-751, plugged to Maldol Fox 727 directional antenna - IZ2XDK (loc. JN45mm) and IK2ULC (loc. JN45lj), both at an average distance of quite 140 kilometers. Meanwhile, IX1CKN, on the same sites, tests reception, on the same frequency, with Baofeng UV-5R with its serial antenna. The signals are there!
